Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love
— Rainer Maria Rilke

About me

I qualified as a therapist in 2017. Before I decided to train as a therapist I have been in personal therapy and on a self exploration journey for a few years. That journey had an impact on who I am and how I relate to myself and to others. I am passionate about what it means to live a good life. And also about bringing to surface the longing that sits behind the original questions and issues that people bring into therapy. â€‹

I keep up my development through various courses. On a personal level I've learned a lot from the school of life, having experienced in my own existence joy, grief, anxiety, disappointment, jealousy, and various other feelings that make us all human.

Originally from Romania  I moved to the UK more than 15 years ago. I have 20+ years of experience in the financial industry. In my life I have been used to inhabit the in between spaces.

I seem to bridge very different worlds, such as corporate world and therapy or living across two different countries. I hold a diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling from Re-Vision.

I have  been working with clients since 2015 in various settings  (including private practice and charities - such as Greenwich Mind and the Wimbledon Guild).

I have worked with anxiety, bereavement, trauma, relationships issues, self esteem, anger, procrastination, heartache or meaning.

I am a registered member of BACP and I abide by their code of conduct.

I believe that getting to know who we are is so important for living a fulfilled life. Understanding how we are in relationships and how we connect with ourselves, and others, is something that interests me as it impacts so much of our quality of living.

We arrive in the world like a blank canvas. As our souls become embodied, we absorb and learn from early infancy how to be, what is "allowed", and what is "bad." We split and polarise between dark and light, good and bad. We learn from our families and our environment; we absorb what is around us and we learn patterns of living. Some serve us well and some don't serve us at all.

The way in which we feel safe (or not), welcomed (or not), able to connect (or not), able to speak our truth and have a voice (or not), able to know and enable our boundaries (or not) when we need them, is very much determined by our past, by the stories we have unconsciously embodied, and from where we act from in our present life.

Irrespective of the reason(s) that brings you to therapy, I offer a space where your whole self is welcomed, with all its parts.

Even the not so pretty ones. Even the ones you are ashamed of. Even the ones that feel difficult to talk about. Together we will get to know what are the stories that shaped you and the stories that made you who you are today.

My  aim is to be alongside you on the journey of self-exploration. And to act as an enabler for the unfolding of what needs to spoken about and heard - without judgement.

There is no right therapy length. You can use the space as much or as little as you want, at your own pace.

I will bring empathy and courage to our work. Ultimately, I am hoping to help you to get closer to answering the question raised by Mary Oliver, "tell me, what is it your plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"

A journey
of Self-exploration

“What is it your plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
(Mary Oliver)

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
(Viktor Frankl)

About therapy and counselling

It helps to talk. And I do use "talk" as a metaphor for communication. It could be that your body talks through gestures, that you bring dreams that we look at together, or that you need to draw out what you cannot communicate in words

I utilise the Re-Vision approach, which is integrative, transpersonal counselling. It also has a soulful approach.

The transpersonal approach implies that the sense of self extends beyond (trans) the individual and emphasises the spiritual aspects of the human experience. The integrative approach means that the way I work combines a number of approaches (such as psychodynamic, Gestalt, Jungian, etc,)

And finally, the soulful approach is is something that is really incorporated into the entire Re-Vision approach. Psychologists like James Hillman and Thomas Moore have really influenced the Re-Vision approach.  With Hillman suggesting that symptoms/what troubles need to be looked at as a way into the soul rather than as something that needs to be fixed "through the symptom the psyche (soul) demands attention"

Beyond outlining the Re-Vision approach, I  will not try to explain what therapy is, as there are so many resources out there. However, I do find this School of Life video really helpful in explaining possible benefits of going to therapy.

If you want to start, therapy, the first step is to make contact. I do offer a 15-minute free, exploratory phone conversation.

When working together, I provide:

  • Therapy in both English and Romanian

  • Online (Zoom) sessions

  • Face-to-face sessions, with availability currently on Wednesday evenings in Greenwich.

Weekly sessions are 50 minutes and charged at â€‹£70 per session.
